My path and vision
Crisis and transformation
I am Anna Teggelaar, and I have a deep passion for the transformation of human consciousness and for how our inner world shapes our outer reality. I love guiding others in self-healing and embodied inner work, and writing about it.
From a young age, I was fascinated by the Second World War and the question of what could drive people to do something so horrible. I have always felt that a more beautiful world is possible.
A personal crisis in 2012 marked the beginning of an ongoing transformation process - my dark night of the soul: a period of several years of intense psychological suffering, mainly deep fear. Life brought me to my knees. It was precisely through this disruptive time that I came into contact with a deeper dimension - something that transcends my individual life and feels like a natural part of being human.
Through this process, with the help and inspiration of others, I learned to meet the dark and difficult parts of myself and allow them to integrate through presence. Embodied inner work has been the key to this. For me, it is about acknowledging and feeling into everything that lives within us - including the painful, suppressed, and dysfunctional parts that are part of the human condition and often connected to intergenerational trauma.
I sometimes call it waking up from thousands of years of insanity - not an easy task ;)
“Midway upon the journey of our life I found myself within a forest, dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost”
- Dante Alighieri,
The Divine Comedy (inferno)
In this podcast episode of The Dark Night of the Soul Unwrapped, I speak with Fiona Robertson about our dark night experiences - what it is, what it does, and how it connects to what is collectively unfolding in the world.
Can we do it differently?
What I have experienced within myself, I also recognize - in a certain way - in the world around me. Sadly, there is so much chaos and suffering, and yet something is shifting. The old ways no longer work, and we are ready for something new.
Many of us are part of an evolutionary process, in which the deeper dimension within us wants to integrate into our humanity, changing us from the inside out. It is a process that continues to deepen - one in which, given the right conditions, more trust, movement, and fulfillment can gradually emerge.
Through my own journey and that of others, I know how much positive change is possible. Crisis can (ultimately) move us forward when we learn how to meet it.
I believe that a mature, integrated consciousness - that inspires people to contribute in their own unique way - can be the foundation for a more beautiful and loving world.
